Steinar Eielsen
(født 26.09.1948 i Mandal) har sin komposisjonsproduksjon hovedsaklig knyttet til kor. Fra midten på 70-tallet frem til 1988 var han dirigent for både mannskor, kvinnekor og blandet kor i Sandnes, hvor han er bosatt.Eielsen har mottatt en rekke priser bl.a. i korkomposisjonskonkurranser, og hedersbevisninger; bl.a. Sandnes kommunes Kulturpris og Rogaland Fylkes Kulturpris. Høsten 2015 ble han tildelt Kongens fortjenstmedalje og i 2018 mottok han Korprisen fra Norges Korforbund.

Steinar Eielsen
(26.09.1948) is a composer whose production is closely linked with choirs. From the middle of the 1970’s until 1988 he conducted male, female and mixed choirs in Sandnes, Norway, where he has his residence.
He has also conducted various orchestras and instrumental ensembles.
Eielsen has received several prizes, among other things in choral composition competitions. In 2018 he received “Korprisen” from The Norwegian Choral Association and in 2015 he was awarded the King’s Medal of Merit.
